About The Position

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanical Insulator Supervisor to lead our mechanical insulation crews on a variety of commercial, industrial, military, and federal projects. This role involves managing multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring adherence to schedules and quality standards, and directly participating in the installation of insulation. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of different insulation materials and applications, excellent communication skills, and the ability to train and mentor crew members.

Requirements

  • Must be able to pass a background check to obtain DBIDS military badging.
  • Must have the REAL ID or ability to obtain one.
  • Clean driving record, or no-fault accidents, to qualify for our Company Auto Insurance.
  • Ability to drive to project sites within Raleigh and Sanford, NC area.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience as a mechanical insulator or in a related construction trade is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and lead mechanical insulation crews on commercial, industrial, military, and federal projects.
  • Manage and coordinate work across 3–5 active projects at a time, ensuring projects stay on schedule and meet quality standards.
  • Install insulation and ductwork on mechanical systems such as pipes, HVAC systems, and equipment to control temperature and prevent energy loss.
  • Work with various insulation materials, including fiberglass, cellular glass, closed cell foam products, and various field-applied weather/vapor barriers.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications to determine insulation requirements and project scope.
  • Apply insulation to both hot and cold systems, including refrigeration and cold storage applications.
  • Communicate and coordinate with General Contractor (GC) Superintendents, Project Managers, clients, and other trades regarding project schedules, jobsite conditions, progress, and installation requirements.
  • Order and coordinate materials, supplies, and equipment needed to keep projects on schedule.
  • Plan daily manpower and work assignments while ensuring crews have the materials and resources needed to complete their work.
  • Train, mentor, and provide hands-on direction to insulation crew members and less experienced employees.
  • Drive a company provided vehicle as needed to transport materials and crew members to and from project sites.
