About The Position

This is a training position for a Mechanical Insulator Helper. The role involves learning to measure, cut, and install insulation materials on pipes, ducts, and mechanical equipment for hot and cold systems, including HVAC and refrigeration. You will work with various insulation materials and interpret blueprints. The job requires ensuring safety and compliance, collaborating with other trades, and working on commercial, industrial, military base, and federal projects. Attention to detail, precision, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team are essential. Familiarity with design-build projects is a plus.

Requirements

  • Must be able to pass a background check to obtain DBIDS military badging.
  • Must have the REAL ID, Social Security, and Birth Certificate.
  • Must have a vehicle and ability to travel within the 757 cities.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous knowledge in construction, sheet metal, HVAC helper, or carpentry would be desirable, but not required.
  • Familiarity with design-build projects and construction processes is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Learn to measure, cut, and install insulation materials on pipes, ducts, and mechanical equipment.
  • Assist with installing insulation on hot and cold systems, including HVAC, refrigeration, and other mechanical systems.
  • Learn to work with different types of insulation materials, including fiberglass, foam, pipe wrap, duct board, and other specialty materials.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and specifications to determine duct work requirements.
  • Apply insulation to both hot and cold systems, including refrigeration and cold storage.
  • Ensure safety and compliance with building codes and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with contractors and other trades on construction or retrofit projects.
  • Work on commercial, industrial, military base, and federal projects as assigned.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail and precision in cutting and fitting insulation.
  • Work independently and as part of a team.
