Requirements

  • High School diploma or Trade School education.
  • At least four years of mechanical inspection or relevant machining experience.
  • Proficient in reading blueprints and drawings, with strong trigonometry and geometry skills.
  • Skilled in using precision measurement tools and instrumentation.
  • Meets company and customer certification standards.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in quality audits and process improvement.
  • Familiarity with field return evaluations and advanced troubleshooting.
  • Background in mentoring or training inspection staff.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect complex mechanical parts, subassemblies, and assemblies using blueprints, process sheets, and engineering change orders.
  • Operate precision measurement tools, including dial indicators, optical comparators, and coordinate measuring machines.
  • Perform advanced calculations for angles, tolerances, and dimensions to ensure compliance with exacting standards.
  • Identify defects, calculate defect rates, and verify rework or repairs meet quality requirements.
  • Develop alternative inspection setups where standard procedures are insufficient.
  • Apply inspection stamp to approve parts, subassemblies, and assemblies prior to customer acceptance.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to resolve technical issues and participate in continuous process improvements.
  • Conduct quality audits and field return evaluations as needed.
  • Assist in training and mentoring junior inspectors.
  • Perform additional duties to support department objectives.
