About The Position

Calmax Technology, Inc. is a Silicon Valley leader in manufacturing and assemblies, providing precision machined parts and turnkey assembly to Fortune 500 customers across technology, automotive, aerospace, semiconductor, and medical industries. We are seeking a Mechanical Inspector to join our 2nd shift team in Santa Clara, CA. The role involves ensuring parts meet stringent quality standards by reviewing engineering drawings, performing visual and dimensional inspections, and utilizing precision measurement tools.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, general education degree (GED) or equivalent
  • Experience in a precision machine shop environment
  • Ability to interpret geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T)
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Dependable transportation to travel between several buildings

Nice To Haves

  • Training in basic shop and measurement math, including linear measurement, metrics, algebra and geometry
  • Familiarity with ISO documentation and processes is a big plus
  • Experience CMM Programming with Zeiss and Mitutoyo MCOSMOS is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Review engineering drawings, specifications, and blueprints to understand the required measurements, materials, and tolerances
  • Ensure parts are produced according to these blueprints and verify specifications
  • Receive and adhere to the Quality Plans provided by the quality engineers and examine material(s) or product(s) for surface defects or any flaws
  • Conduct visual and dimensional inspections to ensure that parts meet specifications and tolerances
  • Check for defects such as cracks, burrs, or improper finishes that could affect the functionality of part or that may affect the customer's perception of the product value
  • Approve finished products, conduct visual and measurement tests, return products for re-work, confirm re-work materials for workmanship and, conformance to the quality plan
  • Perform corrective actions, internal audits, first article, in-process and final inspection on assemblies
  • Initiate and complete all quality (Inspection) related records and documents with minimal supervision
  • Perform precision surface plate and CMM inspection verifications on mechanical parts, components, assemblies, and materials
  • Construct complex inspection set-up(s) and perform required inspections (using set-up) to determine product acceptance
