About The Position

RQ Construction is seeking a Mechanical General Laborer to join our team in Pensacola, Florida, and the surrounding areas. This position supports active construction projects and includes a range of hands-on, physically active duties. Daily tasks may involve working with hand and power tools, assisting various trades, organizing and maintaining job sites, and clearing debris and non-hazardous materials. At times, the role may also include operating select construction equipment as required. Safety is a top priority in this role. All tasks must be performed using proper methods and equipment while following RQ's Mission, Vision, and Values. RQ invests in its workforce by offering on-the-job training and providing certifications as needed for specific project requirements. Work will be performed on an active military base and is compensated in accordance with prevailing wage laws. Founded in 1996, RQC, LLC has expanded from a regional Design-Build contractor in Southern California to a nationwide construction firm. We deliver comprehensive Design-Build services, overseeing projects from initial planning through completion with experienced field teams dedicated to quality outcomes.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in commercial construction or a related field
  • Experience on government, military, or large-scale commercial projects is preferred
  • Provide evidence of identity and U.S. work authorization at the time of hire
  • Successfully pass a drug screening and commercial criminal background check, including a stricter Department of Defense background check, for access to job site at military base

Nice To Haves

  • Forklift certification and experience in warehouse, logistics, or residential construction
  • CPR and First Aid certification
  • Fall protection training or certification
  • Scissor lift or boom lift operation training or certification
  • OSHA 10-hour safety training
