About The Position

Since 1996, RQC, LLC has been a leading player in the commercial and governmental Design-Build economy. We now have a national presence with current projects spanning coast to coast. We offer management of projects throughout the United States, with our field operations team members working on location for each of our projects. We specialize in fast-track projects in new commercial construction for both public and private clients, with a primary focus in the Department of Defense market. We are seeking an experienced Mechanical General Foreman to join our team and support ongoing DoD construction projects throughout the Southeast. This position will be based out of the Jacksonville, Florida area. Our Mechanical General Foreman will be responsible for the daily supervision, direction, and coordination of assigned mechanical trades crews. This position may have varying trades crews assigned including Pipefitters, Plumbers, Sheet Metal Installers, and helper/trainee level employees. Work involves technical application of mechanical principles, and exposure to each trade is desirable. The Mechanical Foreman will be responsible for ensuring that work is done in accordance with relevant codes and project specifications with guidance and supervision from the Piping Superintendent and Project Manager. This is all to be done using the appropriate equipment and implementing the required safety practices in support of RQ's Mission, Vision, and Values.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or G.E.D.
  • Five or more years of work experience as a Mechanical Foreman, with mechanical project sizes of at least $400,000 (commercial/industrial).
  • Five or more years (or equivalent) of field or trade work experience with the installation of mechanical systems (Piping, Plumbing, and/or HVAC duct work & components).
  • Experience in a combination of soldering and brazing of copper, welding of various ferrous and non-ferrous metals ranging in pipe sizes from ½" and larger piping.
  • Experience performing installation of duct work and performing air leak testing.
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Products (Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word).
  • BIM Software proficiency required.
  • CPR/First Aid & OSHA-30 Certifications.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites throughout the Southeast as assigned.

Nice To Haves

  • Courses in construction management and/or mechanical trade school preferred.
  • EM-385 Preferred Training
