About The Position

This role involves supervising labor crews on specific project tasks, mentoring and training subordinate laborers, and performing higher-skilled tasks such as carpentry and welding. The Mechanical Foreman is responsible for observing and complying with all safety and project rules, using company policies and procedures to conduct work safely, and performing basic mathematical calculations. A working knowledge of environmental remediation operations and procedures is also required. The position may involve operating on-road and off-road haul trucks and light equipment if qualified, and potentially completing forms and documentation related to project tasks.

Requirements

• Usable knowledge of basic heavy construction hand tools and heavy equipment.
• Specialized training and certification to meet regulatory requirements (OSHA 1910.120, 40 hour HAZWOPER, applicable 8 hour OSHA training)
• High school diploma (or equivalent)
• Valid driver’s license with driving record within Company established parameters.
• Must have a minimum of 4 years of related experience.
• Commercial Driver’s License and/or valid DOT medical card, when required.
• May operate on-road and off-road haul trucks and light equipment (forklifts and man-lifts) if qualified.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Working knowledge of environmental remediation operations and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Supervises labor crews on specific project tasks.
• Mentor and train subordinate level laborers.
• Required to perform higher skilled tasks on a frequent basis (carpentry, welding, etc.).
• May be required to complete forms and keep documentation related to the project tasks being performed.
• Uses Company Policies/Procedures and experience to conduct work safely.
• Responsible for observing and complying with all safety and project rules.
• Performs other duties as required.
