Mechanical Field Technician
About The Position
OWL Services is searching for highly motivated individuals interested in learning a trade in the Underground Storage Tank (UST) compliance testing industry. This role offers opportunities for advancement within the company, potentially leading to a foreman position managing a work crew. Our Mechanical Field Technicians provide a range of services primarily for the Gasoline Service Station Industry. These services include precision underground tank and line tightness testing, leak detector testing, ATG certification, stage I & II vapor recovery testing, cathodic protection testing, secondary containment testing, and 3rd party facility operations inspections. Technicians are also involved in containment sump repair, gasoline and diesel fuel tank cleaning, and minor maintenance on these systems.
Requirements
- Must have a mechanical background
- History of working with hand tools
- Experience in trades and/or experience in any industrial/commercial settings is a plus
- Can lift 10-50lbs
- Frequent kneeling, bending, handling, reaching, and standing
- Must be capable of climbing ladders to install and retrieve equipment
- Ability to work independently and communicate well
- Basic knowledge of technology – tablet/phone/computer – for documentation
- Must be willing to travel in a multi-state area, in some cases being away from home days/weeks (hotels and a generous per diem is provided)
- Must be able to pass a company paid DOT physical & drug screen
- Possess a clean driving record
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of applicable laws, safety, and technical protocols is a plus
Responsibilities

- Setting up testing and safety equipment
- Removal of manhole lids for underground storage tank access
- Driving a DOT registered commercial motor vehicle
