About The Position

Our company is an essential business and we are hiring! Our office is located on a beautiful campus in Newport Beach, California. The Mechanical Equipment Technician (Technician) is responsible for all maintenance of equipment located at Clean Energy’s LNG production plant in Boron, California. This position maintains and services the facility’s mechanical equipment, control systems, power distribution systems, and HVAC systems. The Technician is responsible for all documentation related to maintenance at the plant assuring that the company’s processes and procedures are met with the highest standard of skill and expertise.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate required; may have completed a trade apprenticeship or technical training in addition to a high school diploma.
  • Requires a minimum of 5 years qualified mechanical experience in a plant production facility, preferably natural gas.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, policies and procedures, correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to use logic and reasoning.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Basic interaction will be required to clock on and off work assignments.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains and services a facility's mechanical equipment, control systems, power distribution systems, and HVAC systems.
  • Performs preventative maintenance and routine repairs to a facility's systems and equipment.
  • Conducts periodic safety and maintenance inspections to evaluate equipment for replacement and identify wear and damage.
  • Uses technical diagrams, blueprints, and schematics to install, troubleshoot, calibrate, and repair equipment, engines, and compressors.
  • Orders parts needed for replacement and coordinates with service providers to complete maintenance tasks.
  • Uses a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) or work order system to track and document activities.
  • Follows established safety procedures and regulations for hazardous materials handling.
  • Works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. Has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job.
