Requirements

• Associate degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical/Electromechanical Engineering Technology, or equivalent military/trade experience.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience in an R&D lab, rapid-prototyping shop, or precision manufacturing environment.
• Proven manual and CNC machining proficiency.
• Strong precision soldering, harness assembly, and PCB rework skills.
• Ability to read complex mechanical drawings, GD&T, and electrical schematics.
• Proficiency with precision metrology tools (calipers, micrometers).

Nice To Haves

• Experience with 3D CAD modeling (SolidWorks or Autodesk Inventor).
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 compliance and sensor-industry testing protocols.
• Experience with 3D printing and DAQ systems (e.g., LabVIEW).

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC/manual machine shop tools (lathes, mills) to fabricate high-precision prototype parts and custom fixtures.
• Perform high-reliability PCB rework, electrical debugging, and fine-pitch soldering (SMT and through-hole).
• Conduct rigorous reliability and environmental testing (thermal, shock, vibration) and document engineering test reports.
• Serve as the technical bridge between R&D and Manufacturing to ensure smooth new product introduction (NPI) handoffs.
• Maintain the R&D lab in a safe, tour-ready condition, manage consumable inventories, and maintain equipment.
