About The Position

The Engineer Technician I role is an entry-level support position for the Engineering department. Under close supervision, this position performs assignments designed to support more experienced Engineering personnel.

Requirements

  • Must be able to perform each essential duty with a high degree of satisfaction.
  • Work effectively in cross-functional teams, collaborating with individuals from diverse fields such as engineering, product, and more to achieve common design goals.
  • Qualified candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.
  • 0-2 years’ experience in a related field.
  • General knowledge of mechanical and control components and application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria in completing a sequence of related Engineering tasks.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Exposure and a general understanding of the following software packages is required: 2-D CAD (AutoCAD or equivalent), 3-D CAD (SolidWorks), Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Visio, etc.).
  • Ability to read, understand and implement electronic and paper based pneumatic and hydraulic schematics.
  • Possesses effective communication skills, a positive “get-it-done” attitude, and the ability to work as part of a team in a demanding production environment.

Nice To Haves

  • AA degree in Engineering Design, Engineering Technology, or Related Field.
  • Exposure and a general understanding of the following software packages is a plus: Epicor

Responsibilities

  • Provides production shop support. Tasks may include assembly, wiring, troubleshooting, ring-out and testing of production equipment.
  • Performs specific tasks (under the guidance of a more senior Engineering team member) on existing standard product lines. Tasks may include drawing, layout, non-critical component design, non-critical circuit design, etc.
  • Provides technical assistance and resolution when mechanical or engineering problems are encountered before, during, and after construction.
  • Collaborates with mechanical engineers and other personnel to identify, define, and solve developmental problems.
  • Develops Engineering models and/or drawings (using company standards and tools) including Bills of Materials (BOMs). Ensures that documentation is clear, complete, accurate and compliant with appropriate company standards.
  • Assist with and/or maintain documentation related to diagnostics, calibration, and maintenance procedures of equipment.
  • Processes assigned Engineering releases, change orders, change requests, redlines and ECRs.
  • Completes normal and required administrative tasks (time sheets, logs, etc.)
  • Becomes familiar with all company safety standards.
  • Performs all commitments/tasks in a timely and professional manner.
  • Travel to customer sites to support commissioning and startup of industrial equipment.
  • Performs other duties/responsibilities as required.
