Conducts performance and reliability testing on engines, components, systems, and controls. This role involves configuring and operating data acquisition systems, analyzing data, writing computer programs for analysis, configuring engine test programs, interpreting results, making adjustments, documenting data, and maintaining electronic files. The technician will also perform rig, engine, and component builds, tear downs, and inspections, as well as grading and measuring components. Fabrication of necessary piping, tubing, and brackets from prints and drawings is also a key responsibility. The role requires installing engines and instrumentation in test cells and rigs, and utilizing common tools such as Calterm, Asset, and Cyflex. Additionally, the technician will design, document, and execute test plans, provide input for test plan creation, and prepare test reports with findings, conclusions, and recommendations. Adherence to company and department rules, training apprentices and technicians, interfacing with customers and other functions, coordinating programs, participating in quality maintenance, leading improvement projects, and giving presentations are also part of the role. Safety compliance and confidentiality are paramount.
