We are looking for a talented Cross-functional Engineering Associate to join our team specializing in Engineering for our Cummins Inc. facility in Columbus, IN. In this role, you will make an impact by supporting and troubleshooting engineering test operations/measurement in multiple locations. You will manage schedules and organize tests and issues, facilitating the prioritization process for testing. You will work with engineers to develop measurement techniques, design more effective measurement methods and data acquisition processes and equipment, develop and execute measurement plans, lead the troubleshooting process, verify proposed solutions, design and procure fixtures for special tests, create software needed for special applications, and document hardware test measurements and test summaries. You will provide support to resolve test issues, lead the test/measurement and issue resolution process, and may lead the development and execution of customer/supplier agreements with engineers. You will perform data analysis and document in Technical Reports, and present test findings. You will provide technical support for customers worldwide. You will understand and apply appropriate Company and department rules and guidelines to work and to systems, and participate in the maintenance of quality procedures. You will develop and conduct training programs, and provide counseling, mentoring, and coaching. You will serve as company representatives in various capacities to customers, suppliers, and outside agencies, and interact effectively with all employees throughout the company. You will exercise independent decision-making and initiative in determining what needs to be done and planning and implementing the needed activities; perform problem solving, creative technical and analytical work, budget management, and hands-on applications; and coordinate programs including planning, scheduling, ordering, and tracking. You will demonstrate adaptability and responsiveness to changing work needs and willingness to undertake new tasks as they become evident; initiate, develop, lead, and participate in improvement projects. You will know and comply with all safety policies and procedures. You will demonstrate confidentiality as required. You will share work with exempt and other OCU employees as required. You will manage your own work and maintain a flexible schedule in order to meet the demands of priority work; participate in self- and team-audits and associated corrective action; and plan and engage in continuous learning in order to be prepared for changing work demands. You will travel as required by the position. You will perform other miscellaneous duties, as required, to get the job done.
