About The Position

The Engineering Technician will perform the following duties: Prepares reports and summaries, including quantitative analysis Gathers, maintains, formats, compiles and manipulates technical data, such as laboratory or material test results and engineering design changes. Products engineering document, reports, and drawings (flow charts, block diagrams and schematics) Help scope equipment for use and complete qualifications Assist Engineers as they create, modify, and test products and processes Operate and maintain test equipment Use typical hand tools to build and set-up equipment using drawings and other documentation Use complex measurement equipment to collect and record data Execution of designed test protocol and conduct testing Works with team to organize lab functions & test equipment Notifies manager upon recognition of factors that may affect project Effective documentation and communication of test results Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High School Diploma / GED
  • A combination of equivalent education and experience or a minimum of training beyond high school or secondary school in a technical discipline with more than 2 years relevant experience or a combination of equivalent education and experience.
  • Experience using test equipment such as an Instron for tensile and compression testing
  • Demonstrated knowledge and familiarity of electro-mechanical devices
  • Proficiency with personal computers
  • Experience using MS Word, Excel & PowerPoint
  • Ability to understand and perform designed test procedures
  • Good organizational skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to follow directions and effectively execute written and verbal instructions

Nice To Haves

  • BA or BS
  • Ability to train lower level technicians and operators
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams
