What's in it for you: We are seeking a Mechanical Engineering Tech II who will support testing of ULT platforms along with the fabrication and design of POC ULT products.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience of refrigeration systems in lieu of degree or Associate’s Degree (AA)
  • Must be able to wear helmets, safety goggles, fall protection harness and safety boots to safely perform job duties
  • Must be able to twist the trunk of your body 90 degrees in each direction
  • Must be able to squat and touch the floor with both hands
  • Must be able to reach your hands over your head
  • Must be able to stand on concrete surfaces for extended periods, routinely up to 4 hours
  • This position is highly physical and requires regular use of hands, fingers, walking, stooping, kneeling and climbing ladders.
  • It requires employees to regularly lift and or move up to 10 lbs., frequently lift and/or move up to 40 lbs. and occasionally lift and/or move more than 40 lbs.
  • Must be able to maneuver confined access areas, as small as 30” vertical x 45” horizontal.

Responsibilities

  • Documentation of parts and bills of materials
  • Develop a good working knowledge and familiarity of design and drafting standard practices, methods and processes
  • Work from oral engineering instructions or written procedures, schematics, drawings and sketches.
  • Ability to lead small segments of large projects with responsibility for completion of assignments.
  • Exercise sound judgment in recognition of potential design problems.
  • Detects and corrects own errors.
  • Must be customer driven, innovative and quality minded in performance of all assigned duties.
  • Develop and exercise good communication skills.
  • Maintains awareness and adheres to all company safety and security policies and procedures.
  • May be required to travel to various locations to support products or train other personnel.
  • Receives generalized information and instruction pertaining to assignment from engineers or senior staff.
  • Work direction, content and accuracy reviewed by engineers or senior department members.
  • Support Testing of Refrigeration Systems on Helmer Products and Support Laboratory Testing Documentation and Procedures.
  • Assist prototype mechanical part validation efforts of ULT Product Lines
