The Mechanical Engineering Supervisor role encompasses leadership, technical excellence, and operational execution, while fostering a culture of safety, quality, continuous improvement, and the ideal staff member experience. Oversees the mechanical design, development, testing, and upgrades for superconducting particle accelerators, radiochemistry equipment, facility and periphery equipment with an emphasis on robust designs that can operate long-term in a challenging production environment Leads day-to-day technical execution of the mechanical engineering team, including assignment of work, technical guidance, and prioritization to meet schedule, safety, and quality objectives Ensures mechanical designs meet applicable environmental, health, and radiological safety requirements and are executed in compliance with cGMP practices, policies, and procedures Participates in and facilitates Design for Manufacturing (DFM) reviews: reviews drawings, 3D models, BOMs, and specifications to improve manufacturability, serviceability, and assembly quality Performs and checks engineering calculations and analyses related to strength of materials, temperature, pressure, force, tolerance stack-ups, and other factors relevant to machine and tool design Sets KPIs for the mechanical engineering group, communicates key program updates, and drives improvements in quality, safety, and productivity to ensure KPIs are met Leads all operational efforts and identifies process improvements to increase efficiency and support strategic growth Leads and inspires a diverse team of skilled professionals
