  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.
  • 10+ years of progressive engineering experience.
  • 5+ years of engineering leadership experience, including management of engineers or technical contributors.
  • Experience leading engineering work in a quality-controlled or configuration-controlled environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance technical quality, safety, schedule commitments, and organizational priorities.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain technical risks, tradeoffs, and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in nuclear, pharmaceutical, chemical processing, energy, aerospace, defense, or another highly regulated industry.
  • Experience supporting major capital projects through design, construction, commissioning, startup, or operations.
  • Familiarity with NRC-regulated environments, NQA-1, ASME, ANSI, or similar technical standards.
  • Experience managing engineering contractors, suppliers, and equipment vendors.
  • Experience with engineering documentation systems, product data management, design review workflows, or project management tools.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license, advanced technical degree, or other relevant credentials.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a team of approximately 6 mechanical engineers supporting the Chrysalis Project, plus provide technical oversight of roughly 6 engineering contractors.
  • Set engineering priorities, staffing plans, resource needs, and performance expectations for the team.
  • Ensure the technical quality and timely delivery of mechanical engineering products, including system and equipment design, calculations, specifications, and procurement packages.
  • Support licensing, regulatory, quality, and configuration management expectations across all engineering deliverables.
  • Coordinate engineering execution with Operations, Construction, Procurement, Project Controls, Safety Analysis, Licensing, Quality, and other engineering disciplines.
  • Support construction, startup, and operational readiness activities, including field issue resolution.
  • Drive engineering process improvement initiatives that strengthen technical governance and repeatable execution.
  • Represent Mechanical Engineering in project and executive-level reviews.

Benefits

  • The base salary range for the Mechanical Engineering Manager is $130,000 - $160,000 per year plus a comprehensive compensation package.
