About The Position

Hexagon Autonomous Solutions is looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineering Manager to drive product development activities and champion mechanical engineering best practices. In this position, you will lead mechanical design efforts from concept through production, improve engineering processes, and develop rugged, highly manufacturable antenna products for customers around the world. This position will join a high-performance team focused on designing, developing, and delivering advanced antenna technologies for customers across aerospace, defense, agriculture, survey, and autonomous systems. Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent four-year engineering degree.
  • Minimum 10 years relevant work experience.
  • Proficiency with CREO (Pro/Engineer) for mechanical design.
  • Experience designing products for the aerospace and/or defense industries.
  • Knowledge of GD&T, tolerance analysis, and stackup analysis
  • Knowledge of robustness standards (MIL-STD-810, DO-160)
  • Applicants for select positions that require access to information controlled by the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (“ITAR”) or the Export Administration Regulations (“EAR”) must be US Persons per ITAR §120.15 and EAR §772.1 (i.e., a U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, or admitted to the U.S. as an asylee or refugee), or be otherwise eligible to obtain required authorization from the U.S. Government to access controlled information. Employment is contingent upon Antcom’s ability to obtain such required authorization for the applicant.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience designing products for the aerospace, defense, and/or marine industries
  • Experience with PLM software such as Windchill
  • Experience with thermal and/or structural analysis tools
  • Experience designing molded parts
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD to modify legacy drawings

Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop the mechanical engineering team, including resource planning, prioritization, mentoring, and performance management.
  • Own mechanical engineering execution for new product development, sustaining engineering, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Design and analyze antenna products and components, developing concepts into CREO models, analyses, and mechanical drawings.
  • Provide technical direction and design review for mechanical engineering activities, ensuring designs meet performance, quality, cost, and schedule requirements.
  • Lead root cause investigations and corrective actions for mechanical product issues.
  • Oversee and execute Engineering Change Orders and product/process design changes.
  • Drive Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and continuous improvement across products and engineering practices.
  • Lead environmental test planning, execution, analysis, and documentation.
  • Support new business development through feasibility assessments, requirements reviews, compliance matrices, and RFP responses.
  • Partner with Sales, Product Management, Operations, Quality, and customers to resolve technical issues and support business objectives.
  • Collaborate across Hexagon engineering teams to implement common processes and best practices.
