Mechanical Engineering Manager

About The Position

Dematic has an immediate need for a mechanical engineer manager in customer service who can complete complex projects, assign projects to teams and monitor results while performing technical support to marketing, sales, and/or other departments. This role involves assessing and carrying out project completion, including organization, definition, planning, implementation, and control. The manager will establish and prepare technical standards, complex technology design theory, and procedures. They will define workflows, jobs, and reporting relationships to optimize effectiveness, analyze the impact of decisions on business operations, and support departmental budgets and business plans for projects. Additionally, the role requires analyzing technology, resource needs, and project timelines to ensure project success, appraising and recommending changes in methods or procedures, identifying and resolving complex problems, and being responsible for the overall success of the team or projects. The manager will guide a team of 6-12 engineers and will be responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the team, leading with integrity and respect.

Requirements

  • Prior experience managing a multi-disciplined team
  • Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline is required
  • Advocates and recommends change in processes and/or procedures to improve processes, projects, and team
  • Anticipates trends, problems and enthusiastically searches for resolutions
  • Demonstrates and applies broad knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures for managed work group(s) and how it supports related operations
  • Requires excellent written and oral English skills
  • Ability to communicate openly and non-judgmentally and demonstrate strong listening skills, while offering support and inspiration to team
  • Technical knowledge/ experience in Mechanical Engineering in industrial automation or material handling industry
