About The Position

This is a 10-week paid summer internship program for Mechanical Engineering students, running from May 24, 2027, to July 30, 2027. The internship is primarily on-site at CSX Headquarters in Jacksonville, Florida, with potential for co-op extension. Housing support may be provided for eligible interns. Interns will earn competitive hourly pay and gain valuable professional experience through various development opportunities, including executive networking, lunch & learns, site visits, community service, and cross-functional exposure.

Requirements

Be a rising senior or graduate student enrolled in an accredited college or university, with an anticipated graduation date of December 2027 or May 2028.
Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
Pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree: systems engineering, computer engineering, computer science, business administration, information technology, or law.
Be available to work up to 40 hours per week for the duration of the 10-week program
Demonstrate strong communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and leadership skills
Must be 18 years of age

Anticipated graduation within a year after the end of the internship
Cumulative minimum GPA of 3.5 (based on a 4-point scale)
Prior internship experience

Responsibilities

Review, design and implement analytics platform to monitor mechanical car reliability, repair and production
Partner with multiple departments (Facilities, Mechanical Car/Locomotive and Transportation) to support the CSX Network while also providing reliable mechanical equipment.
Miscellaneous activities and responsibilities assigned by Manager.
