About The Position
Barge Design Solutions is seeking a hard-working and dedicated college student to join us as a Mechanical Engineering Intern next summer. This internship offers the opportunity to gain valuable work experience in the field, learn from experienced mentors and leaders, and contribute to impactful projects. The internship is located in Knoxville, TN, with one position available for the Summer of 2027.
Requirements
- Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree from an accredited university
- Major: Mechanical Engineering
- Current GPA of 3.0 or higher
- You must be at least 18 years of age.
Nice To Haves
- Preference will be given to students that do not require sponsorship
Responsibilities
- Preparation of piping, plumbing, HVAC, fire protection, and utility plans, sections, and details
- Routine manual calculations regarding piping design for liquids and gases such as calculation of pressure drop and pipe sizing, and the selection of valves and inline fittings
- Reviewing construction submittals, such as shop drawings and product data
- Supporting Engineers in completing project deliverables
- Collaborating with team members on new ideas/innovations
- Using Autodesk REVIT
