About The Position
Barge Design Solutions is seeking a motivated and dedicated college student for a Mechanical Engineering Internship position for Summer 2027. This paid internship offers the opportunity to gain valuable work experience in mechanical engineering, working on industrial and commercial building design projects, and water/wastewater treatment structures. Interns will learn from experienced mentors and leaders while contributing to project deliverables and collaborating with team members.
Requirements
- Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree from an accredited university
- Major: Mechanical Engineering
- Current GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Must be at least 18 years of age
Nice To Haves
- Preference will be given to students that do not require sponsorship
Responsibilities
- Preparation of piping, plumbing, HVAC, fire protection, and utility plans, sections, and details
- Routine manual calculations regarding piping design for liquids and gases such as calculation of pressure drop and pipe sizing, and the selection of valves and inline fittings
- Reviewing construction submittments, such as shop drawings and product data
- Supporting Engineers in completing project deliverables
- Collaborating with team members on new ideas/innovations
- Using Autodesk REVIT
