As a student intern with our Industrial Facilities Engineering and Design team, you will perform meaningful, hands-on, real-world work that will transform your classroom experience and help you envision your future career. You’ll work alongside experienced staff and engineers to create construction documents and specifications. Our mechanical design services include: 3D modeling of mechanical systems Pipe stress and pressure vessel analysis Hydraulic modeling HVAC system design, including load calculations, duct and piping layout, equipment selection, and energy efficiency analysis Coordination of HVAC systems with architectural and structural elements, as well as other building systems

Requirements

  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to contribute and work well on a team
  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Experience with Revit, AutoCAD, or other 3D modeling tools
  • Coursework or experience in HVAC design or thermodynamics
  • Familiarity with HVAC codes and standards (e.g., ASHRAE, IMC)
  • Interest in mechanical systems for industrial facilities, including ventilation and process cooling
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
