About The Position

As a student intern with our Industrial Facilities Engineering and Design team, within the Process Engineering group, you will perform meaningful, hands-on work that will transform your classroom experience and help you envision your future career. Working alongside experienced engineers, you will assist with the planning, design, and evaluation of process systems for a variety of industrial projects. Your experience may include supporting process calculations, equipment selection, engineering studies, technical documentation, and design deliverables. You may also participate in site visits and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop solutions that improve efficiency, safety, reliability, and sustainability. At Olsson, you'll gain valuable technical experience, develop professional skills, and learn how engineering solutions are applied to real-world challenges. This internship will provide exposure to our collaborative culture while helping you evaluate Olsson as a future career choice. Our Process Design Services Include: Process Design Basis PFDs & P&IDs Process Modeling & Hydraulic Design Equipment Design and Selection Process Controls Specification Pressure Relief Valve Sizing & Analysis

Requirements

  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering (preferred) or Mechanical Engineering
  • Coursework or experience with thermodynamics, mass transfer, and chemical reaction kinetics
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to contribute and work effectively in a team environment
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Interest in industrial processes and process system design

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Aspen, ChemCAD, or other process modeling tools preferred but not required
