Repligen is looking for a Mechanical Engineering Intern who has completed their second year of an accredited ME (or related) program and enjoys both CAD and hands-on engineering. You’ll support new product work through 3D modeling/detail drawings, concept development, and product testing. You’ll collaborate directly with senior engineers and contribute to meaningful project deliverables in an active development environment. “This role is expected to model our Leadership Behaviors—Integrity & Compliance, Customer Focus, Collaboration, Courage, Team Empowerment, and Accountability & Results—in all aspects of work.”

Requirements

  • Completed 2nd year of a B.S. program in Mechanical Engineering or similar.
  • Hands-on experience with CAD (SolidWorks/AutoCAD or equivalent through coursework/projects).
  • Interest in experimentation, troubleshooting, and practical problem-solving
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills; able to document work clearly.
  • Ability to work effectively on a team and communicate progress.

Nice To Haves

  • Test planning and presenting test results preferred.
  • Comfortable in a hands-on lab/prototype environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Create and revise 3D CAD models and detail drawings for components/sub-assemblies; support design iterations based on feedback and test results.
  • Assist with concept generation for new product features/modules, including basic layout, fit checks, and design-for-assembly considerations.
  • Support product testing: help define test approach, set up experiments, collect data, and summarize findings.
  • Design/build simple test fixtures to enable repeatable testing and reliability checks.
  • Prepare engineering documentation (drawings, assembly notes, test plans, and test reports) with attention to clarity and traceability.
  • Participate in project team meetings; communicate status, learnings, and next steps with the broader team.
