We are currently seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern to support our Spent Fuel Handling Project. We are looking for a Mechanical Engineering Intern to support the team to execute the design. This role will work with engineers and designers from Idaho Falls and other Amentum offices to complete technical portions of projects. Typical duties include researching and preparing responses to RFI’s and Submittals from the contractors.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Excellent problem solving and communication skills.
  • Self-starter and motivated to accomplish tasks.
  • Ability to follow established Amentum quality procedures and ensure that all work accomplished under their control is completed under established quality procedures.
  • Competent using Microsoft Office software.
  • Ability to work onsite at Idaho National Lab daily if needed.
  • US citizenship required.
  • Valid driver's license is required.
  • Must be able to work in a team atmosphere.
  • Must put forward professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation.
  • Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others.
  • Must take and pass a pre-employment drug and background check.

Nice To Haves

  • Mechanical design experience and knowledge of engineering principles.
