Shive-Hattery internships provide hands-on experience intended to enhance knowledge and understanding of a chosen career path. Interns are treated as full-time staff members and have access to learning and growth opportunities. They work on actual client projects where their contributions affect the company and the community. Mechanical Engineering interns work on a variety of project types, gaining insight into the profession, collaborative teamwork, and serving client needs. Each intern is paired with a mid-to-senior-level employee who serves as a mentor. The informal one-on-one mentoring relationship supports discussion of career goals and aspirations and complements academic learning through professional relationship development. Shive-Hattery describes its culture as collaborative, with opportunities to learn from and teach others across disciplines, and supports a flexible work environment. The company is an equal opportunity employer committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace. Candidates must have current and ongoing authorization to work in the United States without employer sponsorship; visa sponsorship is unavailable now or in the future.
