About The Position

The Heat Transfer Group within Carrier’s Mechanical Center of Excellence (MCOE) organization is seeking a motivated, results-oriented college student to join our team for the Fall of 2026. The Carrier internship experience offers interns an environment that provides practical, challenging, and meaningful on-the-job work experience, and the opportunity to apply knowledge and demonstrate strengths in efforts to assist Carrier in achieving its business strategy. You will learn and apply skills in heat transfer, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics, including both single-phase and two-phase flows. You will grow professionally to become knowledgeable on heat transfer and system requirements for HVAC&R equipment.

Requirements

  • Must be currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in any Engineering field.
  • Must have an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship.

  • Thermodynamics, Fluids and Heat Transfer coursework or previous internships preferred

Responsibilities

  • Support laboratory test rigs to characterize performance of enhanced heat transfer surfaces and components.
  • Apply engineering software such as MATLAB and EES to perform data reduction and heat transfer analysis.
  • Develop heat transfer and pressure drop correlations that accurately describe performance of heat transfer surfaces over a wide range of single-phase, condensing, and evaporating conditions.
  • Apply advanced simulation tools to assess system level impacts of new heat transfer components.
