About The Position

STV is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Mechanical Engineering Intern to join its Buildings team for Summer 2027. The internship provides undergraduate and graduate-level candidates the opportunity to work alongside an experienced team, learn, and contribute to building projects. This is a hybrid position requiring at least three days per week in the office. Preference will be given to candidates able to participate for at least three months and work full-time.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Mechanical Engineering at an ABET-accredited university or NCEES equivalent.
• This position is not eligible for sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Assist with HVAC designs, calculations, and reports for building projects.
• Participate in equipment selection and specification writing.
• Lead projects under the guidance of senior engineers.
• Mentor junior staff members and provide guidance as needed.
• Meet with clients to discuss project requirements and make recommendations based on their needs.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including structural, traffic, and geotechnical engineers.
• Plan, organize, and develop engineering activities for construction and maintenance projects.
• Evaluate, select, and apply engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria.
• Develop innovative approaches to solve engineering problems.
• Prepare or modify drawings, specifications, calculations, charts, and graphs.
• Monitor work for compliance with applicable codes and engineering practices.
• Perform other tasks as assigned to support project goals and team objectives.
