About The Position
Salas O’Brien is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Mechanical Engineering Intern to join its engineering team for Summer 2027. The intern will assist in the design, analysis, and testing of mechanical components and systems, contributing to the development of innovative products and solutions. The role offers professional growth and hands-on experience in a dynamic environment. The position is located in Tysons, Virginia, and requires no travel. Salas O’Brien is an employee-owned engineering and professional services firm founded in 1975. It provides integrated engineering and consulting services across industries and building types, including data centers, healthcare, science and technology, high-rise buildings, clean energy, and education.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD.
- Basic understanding of mechanical engineering principles, including mechanics, thermodynamics, and materials science.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
Nice To Haves
- Internship or co-op experience in a mechanical engineering role.
