About The Position
Introba is seeking a Mechanical Engineering intern to join their Toronto, ON office for a 4- to 8-month placement. This role offers the opportunity to assist engineers and staff in various project support capacities within a collaborative community, allowing for the expansion of knowledge and sharpening of skills through hands-on, meaningful work. The company specializes in net-zero first thinking and delivers sustainable, forward-thinking solutions to complex design challenges.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled and pursuing a bachelor's in mechanical engineering degree from an accredited university program
- Familiar with AutoCAD and Revit
- Ability to think mechanically and/or mechanically inclined
- Passion for mechanical building systems and sustainable design
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with a proven ability to efficiently prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of producing clear documentation and interacting professionally with clients and colleagues
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while also able to effectively collaborate in a team environment
- Strong commitment to integrity, consistently demonstrating ethical, fair, and responsible behavior
- Commitment to innovation and continuous learning, with a passion for acquiring new skills and driving improvements
Responsibilities
- Assist in setting up AutoCAD and Revit drawing files, including digitizing, organizing, and refining working drawings.
- Support HVAC, Fire Protection, and Plumbing drafting tasks based on mark-ups and guidance provided by the Team Leader and design staff.
- Ensure all drawings comply with the Introba design checklist and established drawing standards.
- Maintain and update AutoCAD/Revit files throughout the project lifecycle.
- Collaborate with design staff to coordinate mechanical requirements with other building systems.
