This role involves conducting analytical studies on refrigeration systems, designing or modifying cooling systems, and analyzing research data to prepare project specifications. The position requires conferring with CADD Operators and other Engineers to clarify or resolve systems with engineering designs, and preparing or directing the preparation of system layouts, detailed drawings, and schematics. The individual will provide input to the manufacturing or building of refrigeration systems, assist in maintaining and developing new product standards and engineering documentation practices, and develop/design refrigeration systems for large industrial applications using a variety of principles. This role also includes selecting and sizing all equipment and materials for assigned projects, coordinating material purchases with the Purchasing & Logistics Coordinator, and interfacing with other design professionals and local officials. The position requires solving schedule design and code issues, overseeing the Risk Management Program (RMP) complying with EPA, and transitioning projects to operations and service departments. The individual should be alert to opportunities for improvement in equipment, methods, processes, and procedures, and research/develop these ideas. Establishing and maintaining a communicative, coordinated, and cooperative relationship with all other functions within the organization is crucial, as is participating in regular scheduled meetings. Ensuring accurate completion and collection of all engineering-related paperwork for job costing and pricing, and maintaining up-to-date drawings, specifications, data, charts, etc., are also key responsibilities. The role may also involve performing other duties as requested by the Engineering Manager.
