About The Position

As a Mechanical Engineering Designer I, you will help design HVAC, plumbing, and building automation systems for buildings, taking project work from concept design through final construction documents alongside licensed P.E.s and a multidisciplinary team. You will work across a variety of building types, sizes, and delivery methods, with day-to-day mentorship. The role offers hands-on experience with Revit, AutoCAD, system sizing, and energy modeling, increasing client-facing responsibility, and a path toward licensure and a Mechanical Engineer career. The firm is nationally active and employee-owned (ESOP).

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
Revit experience is highly preferred.

Nice To Haves

Pursuing the Fundamentals of Engineering (F.E.) exam.
Post-graduation professional engineering experience.
Revit experience.

Responsibilities

Prepare Revit and AutoCAD models and drawing sets for assigned projects.
Perform HVAC and mechanical system sizing, static pressure calculations, and energy model inputs across active projects.
Research and document applicable plumbing, mechanical, and fuel/gas code requirements for assigned projects.
Contribute sensor, actuator, and basic control strategy selections for Building Automation Systems (BAS).
Check work before review and flag design and documentation inconsistencies to senior staff.
Assist with specifications that align with drawings and firm standards.
Keep shared project documentation current for internal teams, consultants, contractors, and clients.
Learn the firm's design and analysis tools and contribute to contract documents on an active project.
Pursue the Fundamentals of Engineering (F.E.) exam.
Participate in team meetings and Lessons Learned sessions on every project.
Take on a growing share of client communication as expertise develops.
