Our Honeybee Robotics team in Altadena is seeking candidates to join our cooperative education program with a focus on mechanical engineering. In the role, your daily responsibilities will involve actively supporting the design, development, fabrication, and testing of various mechanical, electromechanical, and/or electrical systems. You will have the opportunity to learn through hands-on experience and make a tangible, positive contribution to our technology development efforts.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program, preferably in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience working with hardware: mechanical assembly (fastening, power-tools, machining) and/or electrical workmanship (wiring, soldering, crimping), etc.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, etc).
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of a course or experience in one or more of the following areas: Strength of Materials, Statics/Dynamics, Basic Control Theory, Motor Control.

Responsibilities

  • Support systems design, development, fabrication, and testing of various mechanical systems.
  • Embrace a hands-on learning approach and aspire to make a meaningful and impactful contribution to product development.
  • Draft, update, and procure with technical documents (mechanical part and assembly drawings, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, etc).
  • Original part design and/or selection of commercially available off-the-shelf (COTS) components.
