About The Position

Peterbilt Motors Company, a PACCAR Company, is hiring a Mechanical Engineer for its Outer body and Aerodynamics team in Denton, Texas. The role covers concept development, final design development, validation planning, testing support, and launching designs into production. Projects include aesthetic outerbody and aerodynamic components that promote the image of Peterbilt and other PACCAR brands, as well as structural components that mount outerbody components to the truck. The position involves regular coordination with PACCAR engineering teams and with Styling, Marketing, and Sales. Up to 10% travel can be expected.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
At least 6 years of related experience.
3D CAD modeling skills.
Competency in Microsoft Office.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to handle multiple tasks.
Self-starter and resourceful.
Strong professionalism.
Proactive approach to reconciling issues and reaching consensus.

Nice To Haves

CREO experience.
Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA).

Responsibilities

Develop concepts and final designs for outerbody and aerodynamic components.

Coordinate regularly during development with other PACCAR engineering teams, as well as Styling, Marketing, and Sales.
Act professionally in all contacts with external and internal customers.
