About The Position

Dart Container is seeking a driven Mechanical Engineer for a fast-paced, hands-on manufacturing environment. This role involves solving real-world problems, troubleshooting equipment, and turning ideas into practical solutions. The Mechanical Engineer will lead engineering projects focused on developing, testing, and improving mechanical systems and equipment, collaborating closely with Maintenance, Production, and other engineering teams to enhance safety, quality, reliability, and efficiency. This position offers a significant opportunity to make an impact due to exciting growth and new equipment at the Leola facility.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field
3+ years of related engineering experience
Experience analyzing manufacturing equipment, processes, and materials
Strong problem-solving, analytical, project management, and communication skills
Knowledge of continuous improvement and quality tools such as SPC, 5S, FMEA, 8D, Root Cause Analysis, and DOE

Nice To Haves

Experience with thermoforming, injection molding, printing, paper equipment, or similar manufacturing processes

Responsibilities

Lead and manage engineering projects from concept through implementation.
Troubleshoot equipment issues and identify root causes using proven problem-solving methods.
Analyze production data to identify opportunities to improve throughput, quality, reliability, and efficiency.
Work hands-on with Maintenance and Production to diagnose equipment issues and implement solutions.
Design and run experiments, analyze results, and implement engineering improvements.
Lead continuous improvement projects that reduce scrap, rejects, downtime, and costs.
Develop SOPs, documentation, and training for new and improved processes.
Collaborate with engineers, technicians, Maintenance, Production, and other departments to bring projects to life.
