We are actively looking for an entry level Mechanical Engineer to join our Tampa office. The Mechanical Engineer supports engineering work involving design, construction, and execution of mechanical projects. Assists during the inspection and research to ensure adherence to law and the standards of good engineering practices. This position will offer the right candidate the chance to work on local, regional, and international projects in the marine, energy, and infrastructure industries. The right candidate must be interested in learning a wide variety of topics the mechanical engineering field and must be comfortable with constant collaboration with multiple teams in and outside the office. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 0 – 2 Years of experience in mechanical engineering
  • Acknowledgement in developing equipment specification, calculation, data sheets, drawings reviews and other documents related to the mechanical design
  • General understanding of process design, process flow diagram development, and piping and instrumentation diagram (P&ID) development
  • Experience in piping design and other mechanical equipment
  • Some planning and task management skills
  • AutoCAD or computer aiding drafting experience
  • Due to client parameters, selected candidate must show (post offer) proof of U.S. citizenship and clear results of a thorough background check that may include but is not limited to credit and criminal history
  • All new hires will be required to successfully complete and pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check in compliance with NIST 800-171

Nice To Haves

  • Design experience in industrial complex and / or marine terminals is a plus
  • 3D design development experience a plus (Plant 3D, Revit, Civil 3D, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Support design development for projects related to utility and process piping infrastructure, including equipment/materials specification, calculations, data sheets, design and drawing development
  • Design projects involving piping and utility design using either Plant 3D, PDS, or similar three dimensional design tools
  • Assist with mechanical design of waterfront facilities such as marinas, container terminals, marine oil terminals, and pump stations (sewer and storm water)
  • Assist with condition assessment inspections for oil & gas and utility infrastructure
  • Perform 3D modelling and analysis of mechanical systems
  • Conduct 3D model reviews, clash checks and interdisciplinary reviews of developed drawing packages
  • Participate in and conduct quality control reviews of deliverables
