About The Position

The Mechanical Engineer will assist the Engineering Department in all aspects of design, development, and validation of automated car wash systems. This individual identifies and employs proper specifications for materials, processes & finishes, and electromechanical components, as well as leads the preparation of production documentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • 3+ years of progressive mechanical engineering experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or heavy equipment environment.
  • Proven experience leading design projects from concept through production.
  • Advanced proficiency in solid modeling techniques and programs (Solid Edge preferred).
  • Understanding of pumps, motors, and fabricated component processes.
  • Proven experience in mechanical design of complex parts, assemblies, and products.
  • Experience designing and prototyping electromechanical systems.
  • Extensive knowledge of common analytical methods including FEA and FMEA.
  • Strong mathematical skills and ability to work with technical instructions, diagrams, and equations.
  • Dedication to thorough tracking of design files, solid models, BOMs, and change histories.
  • Ability to write professional, technical, and end-user documentation.
  • Occasional travel (0-10%) to area customers, suppliers, or equipment sites if needed.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and engineering analysis tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse teams and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design parts, assemblies, and sheet metal components to bring products from concept to prototype, testing, and launch using product specifications and standard DFM/DFA methodologies.
  • Evaluate or generate technical specifications, reliability, and costing of various equipment including pumps, motors, levers, lights, hardware, and assorted integrated electrical components.
  • Plan and coordinate production of prototype parts and systems for validation.
  • Fully document and track engineering changes, CAD files, and test reports in cooperation with production and drafting personnel.
  • Provide engineering support to Production and Service to resolve issues on existing equipment.
  • Work closely with other engineers and departments to bring new solutions to market.
  • Take ownership of small to large projects with complex assemblies and features.
  • Drive multiple projects at various phases simultaneously.
  • Other duties as assigned.
