Being a valued member of the Mechanisms Engineering organization, your responsibilities may include some of the following: Work under the direction of other engineers to research, design, analyze, and develop innovative components, assemblies, and/or systems of varying complexity while assuring sound technical rigor and timely delivery. Develop, review, and maintain engineering documents, specifications, and technical analyses, including 3D solid models and 2D drawings. Be a member of integrated product teams, reciprocally interacting with other engineers, adjacent functions, suppliers, and stakeholders, to support products through the entire engineering lifecycle. Collaborate with procurement, manufacturing, and test personnel to support the build and validation of hardware in a production environment. Occasional travel.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education with commensurate years of professional experience.
  • Experience with solid model and drawing creation using 3D computer-aided design software, specification development, vendor interface, parts selection, and/or configuration control.
  • Understanding and ability to apply basic Mechanical Engineering principles, theories, and concepts.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative and team-based environment using good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance; US citizenship is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated experience with 3D CAD Modeling, Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T), have good communication skills (both oral and written), and applied experience with fundamental Mechanical Engineering principles.
  • Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing in accordance with ASME Y14.5.
  • Fundamental understanding of structures, mechanisms, and materials.
  • Prior experience with the design and/or test of mechanical systems.
  • Active security clearance.
