About The Position

The Mechanical Engineer supports a multi-disciplinary engineering team in the execution of projects related to new equipment sales and replacement part programs, performing both independent engineering tasks and collaboration and coordination within project teams. Responsibilities include designing, developing, and planning the installation of mechanical and electromechanical systems for manufacturing applications. The Mechanical Engineer ensures all engineering deliverables meet company standards for quality, are completed on time, and within budget.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3 - 5 years of experience.
  • Advanced proficiency with CAD and parametric solid-modeling platforms, with emphasis on Autodesk Inventor and Vault (PDM).
  • Strong understanding of relationships between mathematical models, 3D models, and 2D drawings.
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365.
  • Demonstrated capability to develop technically defensible engineering solutions and maintain complete design records to support traceability, future reference, and knowledge transfer.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents, safety rules, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write reports and communicate effectively with customers and internal teams.
  • Skilled in presenting information using drawings, models, and presentation tools.
  • Strong understanding of engineering mathematics including geometry, trigonometry, and statistical concepts.
  • Ability to apply mechanical engineering principles such as static and dynamic loads, energy, and heat transfer.
  • Proficiency in applying ratios, percentages, and proportions in practical applications.
  • Ability to define problems, analyze data, and develop practical, effective solutions.
  • Capable of interpreting complex technical instructions and managing multiple variables.
  • Regularly required to sit, use hands, and communicate verbally.
  • Occasionally required to stand, walk, climb, or perform physical movements such as kneeling or crouching.
  • Ability to lift up to 10 pounds regularly and up to 25 pounds occasionally.
  • Vision requirements include close, distance, color, and depth perception.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement engineering programs, including defining project scope, activities, milestones, and resource requirements.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, engineering checklists, and budgets.
  • Provide regular project status updates to internal stakeholders and customers; adjust schedules as needed.
  • Collaborate with engineering team members through meetings, design discussions, and shared project responsibilities.
  • Take ownership of assigned projects and ensure timely progress of deliverables.
  • Review sketches, drawings, specifications, and engineering data to determine design requirements and develop solutions.
  • Research and evaluate existing designs; enhance or develop new product solutions.
  • Ensure designs comply with engineering principles, company standards, and customer requirements.
  • Collaborate with R&D and service personnel to resolve design challenges and develop innovative solutions.
  • Design, model, and detail mechanical components and assemblies for industrial equipment and machinery.
  • Prepare detailed fabrication drawings for machining and sheet metal manufacturing.
  • Perform design reviews and provide quality control support to the engineering team.
  • Develop and document engineering calculations and models; validate designs using computer-based tools.
  • Utilize software and modeling techniques to enhance product development capabilities.
  • Create, edit, and maintain bills of materials (BOMs); enter data into ERP systems.
  • Develop installation, operation, and maintenance manuals.
  • Generate installation and maintenance procedures and instructions.
  • Maintain complete engineering documentation for all equipment, including updates and field modifications.
  • Engage vendors to obtain quotes for project components and services.
  • Prepare purchase requisitions for equipment such as motors, fans, and dust collection systems.
  • Develop specifications for outsourced engineered components and systems.
  • Provide engineering support to Sales, R&D, Production, Customer Service, and other departments.
  • Offer technical expertise on manufacturing processes, materials, and design considerations.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of internal engineering standards and procedures.
  • Travel to production facilities and customer sites as needed.
  • Maintain and enhance technical skills through ongoing training and professional development.
  • Focus development efforts on emerging products, technologies, and markets relevant to the company.
  • Participate in training related to safety, codes and standards, software tools, communication, and technical writing.
