About The Position

We are seeking a highly experienced Mechanical Engineer with a minimum of 10 years of experience in HVAC and/or Plumbing Building Systems Design, specifically within the MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) Engineering field. The ideal candidate will possess a Professional Engineer (PE) license and be ready to immediately contribute to all design aspects of assigned projects. This role requires a strong understanding of Mechanical Engineering principles and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced department. Proficiency in Revit is mandatory, and knowledge of AutoCAD MEP is considered a plus. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, a quick learner, capable of accepting responsibilities, and eager to take on new challenges.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in HVAC and/or Plumbing Building Systems Design, only considered for if experience is in the field of MEP (Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing) Engineering.
  • PE Licensure is required.
  • Must have working knowledge of Revit.
  • Must have a thorough knowledge of applicable building codes.
  • Must be able to produce & review HVAC Load & Energy calculations.
  • Understands and applies concepts of hydronic variable & constant flow systems.
  • Must be able to design HVAC ductwork layouts, ductwork sizing and specify required equipment.

Nice To Haves

  • AutoCAD MEP is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Attend Kick-off meetings with design team, clients and owner to develop a scope of work for project.
  • Perform Site visits to determine existing conditions and document all associated systems included in scope of work.
  • Provide project management from project kickoff thru construction administration, as needed.
  • Convey all information required to internal stakeholders for submissions on all design deliverables.
  • Provide consultation on mechanical equipment room sizes during the appropriate design stage.
  • Produce & review HVAC Load & Energy calculations.
  • Design HVAC ductwork layouts, ductwork sizing and specify required equipment.
  • Perform QA/QC reviews of all calculations by Designers, and provide guidance and mentoring.
  • Respond to RFIs for the project, accurately review submittals, and solve installation issues as needed during construction.
