About The Position

This position is onsite at Hickam Air Force Base, Hawaii (Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam), requires a CAC, and a favorable Tier 1/NACI-SF85 background investigation. Leads mechanical Sub-AMP development and supports lifecycle management of HVAC, plumbing, water, wastewater, natural-gas, and other mechanical utility infrastructure.

Requirements

This position requires a Common Access Card (CAC), the ability to pass the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) clearance to acquire a Common Access Card (CAC).
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer; may occasionally require standing or moving about the office for extended periods.
Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent from an accredited institution within the 50 United States.
Minimum five years of mechanical-engineering experience.
Minimum three years of military facility or infrastructure experience.

Nice To Haves

Professional Engineer (PE) license.
Experience with Air Force utility infrastructure, HVAC, central plants, water/wastewater systems, and energy management.
Experience using BUILDER SMS, Utilities SMS, and asset-management planning tools.

Responsibilities

Analyze BUILDER SMS and Utilities SMS data to develop mechanical Sub-AMPs.
Prepare five-year and ten-year mechanical infrastructure forecasts and lifecycle investment plans.
Assess condition and capacity of water, wastewater, natural-gas, HVAC, plumbing, and related mechanical systems.
Identify mechanical-utility risks, including single points of failure, and develop mitigation strategies.
Identify energy-conservation and optimization opportunities and prepare return-on-investment analyses.
Translate AMP priorities into project requirements, statements of work, cost-estimate inputs, and DD Form 1391 inputs.
Conduct physical inventories and support Sustainment Management System updates.
Coordinate with planners, engineers, environmental staff, mission partners, and other stakeholders.
