Mechanical Engineer III

CRB•Bridgewater, PA

About The Position

The Mechanical Engineer designs and engineers HVAC and mechanical utilities for new buildings, renovations, additions, and processes. The role oversees mechanical discipline scope and budget on small to medium projects of intermediate complexity, coordinating with internal and external architects and engineers, clients, construction managers, subcontractors, vendors, and manufacturers. Work includes load calculations, utility assessments, energy modeling, design reports, code evaluations, plans, P&IDs, schedules, installation details, equipment and system selection and specifications, and coordination with manufacturers and trade partners. The position uses building information modeling, computer-aided drafting, and engineering calculation software. Project work spans studies, conceptual and schematic design, design development, construction documentation, and construction administration. The Engineer designs mechanical systems in compliance with codes and coordinates them with other disciplines. The role manages multiple tasks, sets priorities, directs work, and may work independently or under a Lead Engineer or Project Manager. It develops narratives, reports, construction drawing packages, and specifications; supports construction through RFI responses, submittal reviews, punch lists, and progress reports; and plans work and manages mechanical design budgets on intermediate-complexity projects. The Engineer also supports proposals, documents design requirements and open issues, identifies basic non-compliant existing conditions during site walks, develops internal training presentations, leads quality checks, mentors less experienced staff, and leads systems design programming and master planning with support from a Design Lead or Senior Engineer. The Engineer may serve as Engineer-of-Record for small to medium projects when acting as Lead Mechanical Engineer. CRB is a provider of engineering, architecture, construction, and consulting solutions for the life sciences and food and beverage industries.
