About The Position

Gilbert Mechanical is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our growing team. This role offers the opportunity to design complex HVAC and mechanical systems for commercial and industrial projects in a collaborative design-build environment. The successful candidate will partner with project managers, field personnel, architects, and owners to develop innovative and cost-effective mechanical solutions from concept through construction. This position is ideal for an engineer who enjoys technical design, problem-solving, and working closely with project teams to deliver exceptional customer results.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
3+ years of experience designing HVAC and mechanical systems.
Working knowledge of building codes, construction practices, and mechanical design principles.
Experience with AutoCAD and/or Revit.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Nice To Haves

Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or Professional Engineer (PE) license.
Experience with design-build project delivery.
Knowledge of Navisworks, Sysque, and Trane Trace software.
Plumbing systems design experience.
Piping and/or sheet metal fabrication experience.
Cost estimating or preconstruction experience.

Responsibilities

Perform heating and cooling load calculations for commercial and industrial facilities.
Design and layout HVAC, process piping, and plumbing systems using AutoCAD and/or Revit.
Conduct site visits to verify existing conditions and gather project information.
Coordinate system design with architectural, structural, electrical and other trades.
Participate in project meetings with customers, architects, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
Identify and resolve design conflicts and construction-related issues.
Support project teams throughout planning, design, and construction phases.
Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and project partners.
Ensure designs comply with applicable building codes and industry standards.
