About The Position

Mead & Hunt, Inc., a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm, has a position available for an entry-level mechanical engineer with our Food & Beverage group in our Fenton, MO office location. Occasional travel (up to 40%) will be required.

Requirements

A bachelor’s degree (or higher) in mechanical engineering from an accredited college or university
Must be able to speak & write fluent English
Strong communication and organizational skills
Self-motivated
Can work well both independently and as part of a team

Nice To Haves

A mechanical internship working in an engineering, architecture, or construction firm
Coursework in heat transfer and thermodynamics
Coursework or experience in AutoCAD
Capability of obtaining an EIT within nine months of hire
Familiarity with International Mechanical Code requirements, ASHRAE standards, and building construction materials

Responsibilities

Performing job site surveys of food and beverage manufacturing facilities to analyze ammonia refrigeration
Process glycol and HVAC systems
Calculating refrigeration requirements for process cooling loads and building loads
Performing engineering calculations for system designs
Assisting in the selection of system components required for new and existing systems
Drafting and editing AutoCAD drawings
Designing and modeling 3D mechanical systems in Revit & Plant 3D
Assisting in the development of project documentations
Assisting in creating written specifications for equipment
Coordinating technical specifications, delivery requirements, and quotation parameters with outside equipment suppliers, subcontractors and customers
Overseeing construction and assisting with startup activities
