About The Position

Noblis MSD is looking for an experienced and highly motivated Mechanical Engineer to support NIWC PAC development. Candidates must be experienced in development networking systems utilizing computer-aided design, and mechanical engineering principles. The engineer will develop detailed engineering drawings and models for system design and upgrades. This requires coordination with other functional teams and working closely with government engineers and program sponsors. This position is located on-site in San Diego, CA.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering OR six years applicable experience in lieu of the degree (OR an Associate's Degree + 3 years of experience)
  • Must be a US citizen
  • Active DoD Secret clearance
  • Must be proficient in SolidWorks and AutoCAD
  • Ability to read, write and comprehend technical documentation, schematics and diagrams in accordance with ANSI, ASME, GD&T, and MIL-STD-31000 standards
  • Located in San Diego, CA with the ability to support on customer site.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML) development
  • Experience with Python or similar programing languages
  • Experience with designing, developing, testing, and maintaining program scripts tailored to mission and business needs
  • Experience with MIL-STD-901 and similar qualification test standards
  • SolidWorks Professional Certification

Responsibilities

  • Design and analyze ruggedized mechanical systems for commercial off the shelf (COTS) electronics
  • Develop and maintain Technical Data Packages (TDPs) to ensure technical accuracy and verify that all technical requirements are satisfied
  • Provide advice and guidance to government engineers regarding design, fabrication, operation, and maintenance or repair of ruggedized mechanical enclosures
  • Provide engineering support for the planning, procurement, and production of rack mounted network systems
  • Perform trade studies and participate in equipment selection
  • Establish energy and heat load budgets with the objective of identifying current deficiencies, anticipating future requirements, and estimating factors to be included in network system design
  • Provide technical expertise and support for testing and troubleshooting hardware systems
  • Actively participate in problem solving, continuous improvement, and demonstrate strong dedication to quality and communication
