About The Position

Brooks is looking for a Mechanical Engineer (Atmospheric Systems Engineering) as we accelerate our growth journey. This role is responsible for participating in all aspects of the mechanical design and development of new products, with full life cycle ownership from concept through production release. The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for the design of new products for the semiconductor industry as well as designing new mechanical features for existing products. They will produce and release 3D models, drawings, and BOMs per the Brooks process. This role works cooperatively with electrical and SW engineering to ensure new product designs will function per market and customer requirements. The engineer will understand and communicate the cost impact of new designs, build prototypes, and support operations, supply chain, field service, and the quality organization as needed to ensure the product line can be sustained and function reliably.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an automation product development environment, with knowledge of Semiconductors equipment.
  • 3D CAD modeling (ProE & Solidworks) and FEA (Finite Element Analysis) / CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) of mechanical designs.
  • Knowledge of fundamentals of components as robotic mechanisms, including motors, bearings, sensors, actuators.
  • Working knowledge of automation controls, robotics, semiconductor system integration.
  • Knowledge of materials and good design practices for the material of choice.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, able to prepare technical reports, presentations and interact with suppliers, supply chain and operations.
  • Hands on skill for assembly and trouble- shooting of mechanical components, assemblies and systems.
  • Ability to estimate tasks for completing projects and follow schedules.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of SEMI standards a plus.
  • Experience with Agile/AgileEC a plus.
  • Experience with AutoCAD a plus.
