About The Position

MAHLE, a leading international supplier to the automotive industry, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer. This position is accountable for writing methods and process procedures, investigating and resolving manufacturing problems, conducting tests and experiments, ensuring that products are produced which meet Company specifications, and are produced in the most efficient manner. Requirements

  • Must have associates or bachelors degree in mechanical engineering or industrial technology, or equivalent.
  • Must have thorough knowledge of manufacturing processes.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a manufacturing setting as engineer, operator, supervisor and/or technician is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Review and update all processing dimensions and other processing specifications for operations which must be performed on the product.
  • Provides specific recommendations to correct machining problems and improve machines, tooling, or gauge design.
  • Ensures there is enough tooling to run production on assigned machines; oversee the maintenance of the tooling and inspects damaged tooling to determine if it can be repaired, or if it should be discarded.
  • Tests new designs to evaluate machine and tooling capabilities.
  • Reviews all requested changes in blueprints and tooling and equipment specifications to ensure that they are implemented where appropriate.
  • Establishes new procedures to match the revised design of equipment or tooling to ensure correct operation of the equipment and compiles written reports of the results obtained and makes recommendations.
  • Writes and maintains detailed training manuals for equipment and tooling, and assists with the training of operators and coaches in the proper use and setup of new equipment.
  • Visits equipment manufacturers and other suppliers to resolve machine and tooling problems that exist at the plant and to observe the run-off of newly purchased equipment.
  • Responsible for machines, equipment, tooling and processes which have the process capability (long term) to exceed 1.33 Cpk and continuous improvement thereafter.
