About The Position

This role offers the opportunity to own mechanism design from initial concept through build, test, and customer deployment. You will work on a wide range of engineering problems including electro-mechanical design, fluid systems, test and validation, and electrical thermal management design. You will design robotics solutions to address humanitarian concerns and contribute to transforming our relationship with food. This position involves working with a cross-functional team of perception engineers, controls, mechanical design, and software architecture. Travel to industry customers to visit aquaculture farms and boats on the east and west US coasts, as well as Mexico, is also a part of this role.

Requirements

• B.S./M.S. in Mechanical Engineering, related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
• Background (experience, portfolio, side projects, coursework) in physical prototyping, mechanism design and misc. mechanical engineering projects
• Experience with CAD tools (NX preferred)
• Hands-on experience with machining, fabrication methods and rapid prototyping
• Ability to work onsite full time in El Segundo office in Los Angeles
• Minimum experience of 2 years

Nice To Haves

• Exposure to robotics or embedded systems a strong plus
