About The Position

This role involves working under the general supervision of the Director of Engineering to prepare specifications for purchased components and systems, and to create design proposals for new equipment and modifications to existing designs. The Mechanical Engineer will collaborate with drafters, designers, and other engineers in team efforts, and provide production support to resolve manufacturing issues. Key responsibilities include ensuring all tasks meet customer requirements, cost-effectiveness, and Texas Oil Tools design standards, as well as preparing engineering documentation and procedures for processes, equipment operation, and performance testing. The role also requires maintaining liaison on technical matters and adhering to company policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited curriculum.
  • Working knowledge of Coiled Tubing Pressure Control Equipment.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in the use of SolidWorks or comparable CAD system.
  • Working knowledge of standard manufacturing processes and practices.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of one year experience in the design and development of oil and gas service equipment and/or pressure control equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare specifications for purchased components and (sub) systems.
  • Prepare design proposals for new equipment and modifications to current designs.
  • Lead or participate in team efforts with drafters, designers, and other engineers.
  • Assist production with support in resolving problems arising in the shop during the manufacturing process.
  • Accomplish all assigned tasks within the constraints of customer requirements, cost effectiveness and Texas Oil Tools design standards.
  • Prepare engineering design documentation and procedures for engineering processes, equipment operation and performance testing.
  • Maintain liaison with individuals and units within or outside the organization acting on technical matters pertaining to the field.
  • Follow all applicable department, company and corporate policies and procedures.
